History

The idea for the Défi Pointe-Claire - Run with me originated from those moments when a child, a neighbor, or a friend says to their loved ones, "Run with me." Inspired by these spontaneous invitations that strengthen bonds between generations and community members, we wanted to create an event that celebrates this spirit of sharing and friendliness. By organizing a race accessible to everyone, we aim to encourage families and friends to come together, support one another, and promote an active lifestyle together. Thus, the event's name reflects our desire to see everyone invite their loved ones to participate and experience a rewarding event for the entire community.

Race Registration Information:

When you register for the 5K, 10K, or 15K race, your registration includes a free entry for the 1K or 2K race for you, the same participant. This allows you to take part in a second race and run alongside a family or community member, embracing the true meaning of Run with me. Please note, this free entry is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or given to another participant.

Participants will be divided into the following age groups for each distance:

Post-Race Activities
Snacks and beverages will be available for all participants at the finish line.

Race Security
Medical Support:
First aid stations will be strategically placed along the course, with medical teams ready to assist runners in case of any health emergencies.

Course Marshals:
Trained volunteers will be stationed throughout the route to guide participants, ensure safe navigation, and respond to any on-course incidents.

Traffic Control:
Roads along the course will not be closed but vehicular traffic will be controlled by volunteers and local authorities to ensure the safety of all runners and spectators.

Hydration Stations:
Water and electrolyte stations will be available every 2.5 kilometers.

Impact of Your Support

All funds raised through the Défi Pointe-Claire - Run with me will go directly to the Club de Canoë Kayak de Pointe-Claire. The club will use the funds to support its athletes in competitions and training camps. The club, which is the largest competitive canoe and kayak club in Quebec, is home to over 160 athletes and 20 experienced coaches who participate in more than 20 competitions and training camps annually. Your participation helps support these athletes as they compete at the provincial and national levels.

Volunteer Opportunities

To ensure the event runs smoothly, we are seeking 50 volunteers to assist with various tasks, including bib distribution, manning water stations, ensuring course direction and safety, and helping with post-race cleanup. Volunteering at the event is a great way to contribute to the community and support local athletes. As an added incentive, each volunteer will receive a free entry for the 5km 2026 edition of the event in the weeks following their volunteering.

Is there a refund policy?

If the race is cancelled, we will contact you to offer options: you may choose to donate your registration fee to support our community initiatives or receive a refund minus processing fees.

What happens in case of bad weather?

The race will proceed rain or shine. However, in the event of severe weather conditions, we may postpone or cancel the event for everyone's safety. Updates will be posted on our website and social media pages.

Can I run with a stroller?

Unfortunately, strollers are not permitted on the course, as certain sections are not stroller-friendly. This is to ensure the safety of all participants and maintain the integrity of the race course. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to come enjoy the event with family and friends cheering along the route!

Can I run with a dog?

For the comfort and safety of all participants, running with dogs is not permitted on the course. We love our furry friends, but keeping the race dog-free helps ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone in our community. Thank you for your understanding and support

Can I run with headphones or earbuds?

Yes, you may run with headphones or earbuds. We kindly ask that you stay aware of your surroundings and be respectful of volunteers and fellow participants.

This race consists of three loops around the scenic 5K course that winds through Parc Valois and the lush paths of Pointe-Claire’s parks. With a mix of flat and rolling terrain, it’s perfect for experienced runners looking to challenge themselves while enjoying the natural beauty of the city.
Run with me for 10km ($50.00)
Runners will complete two loops of the 5K course, offering a mix of serene park trails and wide open spaces. It’s an ideal distance for those seeking a moderate challenge on a picturesque and well-marked route.
Run with me for 5km ($45.00)
A single loop of the course that offers a balance of nature and community atmosphere, starting and ending in Parc Valois. Suitable for runners of all levels, it’s a perfect way to enjoy a refreshing run in a beautiful setting.
Run with me for 2km ($30.00)
This shorter route is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. It’s a flat, enjoyable run that takes you through Parc Valois, offering a great way to join the event without committing to a longer distance.
Run with me for 1km ($20.00)
A fun and fast course suitable for all ages, perfect for beginners or those looking to enjoy a light run. It’s a great way to be part of the event while experiencing the energy of the crowd in Parc Valois.
